Day 18 – Andorra la Vella to Narbonne, France – 90 mi.
Today we enter the southern part of the French Republic and head towards a French city near the Mediterranean. “With over 75 million foreign tourists in 2003, France is ranked as the first tourist destination in the world, ahead of Spain (52.5 million) and the United States (40.4 million).
“ Narbonne has a very old history dating back to 118 BC as the site of a Roman colony along the route between Italy, Spain, and Aquitaine (they even preserved part of the road which sits in front of the town hall).”
