Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, June 6, 2006

 

Members Present: Bill Bartscher, Bennett Griffin (Chair), Jerry Jalenak, Harold Jones, Margaret Jones, Jerry Niebaum, Michelle Parmley, Stitt Robinson. We were joined by Tom Brady and Candice Ranney.

Overview: Bennett gave a brief overview of the work done by the committee so far to bring Tom and Candice up to date. He also gave a brief explanation of the strategic plan document and asked for a review and comments from Tom and Candice. Candice provided some additional information on 2 points in particular. Regarding the LJ World “Faith Briefs” section, she explained the Journal World’s stricter guidelines for inclusion stating events must be noteworthy and open to the public. Secondly, she explained the current system for the master calendar that is already in use in the church office. Tom said he agreed with the content of the strategic plan and noted the repeated use of the words “consistency” and “organization.” He said the church staff is currently operating in a survival mode and is pleased to see some work being done that may help in that regard.

Goal Mapping: We began mapping the mechanisms in Section IV to our goals in Section III.
