Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, June 27, 2006

Members Present: Bill Bartscher, Ed Bracken, Bennett Griffin (Chair), Jerry Jalenak, Harold Jones, Margaret Jones, Jerry Niebaum, Patti Winn.

Strategic Plan: Bennett distributed a stapled copy of a “final” draft of the Strategic Plan. Jerry Niebaum reminded the group that we had previously agreed that our FUMC Web site is a strength that should be added to our list of strengths. Bennett will follow up on that. A brief discussion about survey questions led to eliminating the “Why?” questions in the survey.

For the next few meetings our focus will be tactics for the 2 opening events planned for August and September. Bennett will try to arrange joint meetings with the planners of those events. We will help market the events and help market our church programs at each of those events.

To get some publicity about Tom Brady it was suggested that perhaps an interesting article could be built around the legacy of the Brady family in Methodist ministry. Tom’s uncle, father, grandfather, and great grandfather were all Methodist ministers.

Members expressed gratitude for Tom Brady’s willingness and effort to serve in the pulpit at all four services on Sunday, June 25. Bennett will ask Tom to join us for the July 11 meeting.
