Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Members Present: Bill Bartscher, Bennett Griffin (Chair), Jerry Niebaum, and Harold Jones.

Overview: Bennett reviewed a June 11 meeting of the team leaders of the ministry game plan. Due to scheduling of special guests there will be two grand openings of the Celebration Center on West Campus. August 20 will be “Celebration Sunday.” The purpose of that day is to communicate to Church membership the plans for opening the new facilities. September 10 will be “Consecration Sunday” and will be the beginning of a week of celebration and activities related to West Campus. Current plans have our Bishop at the 9a.m. services on West Campus and the 11a.m. services at the downtown church. There will be a potluck picnic at 12:30 on West Campus. Events throughout the week will include a pancake feed and carnival. Events are still in early planning stages.

Goal Mapping: We continued mapping the mechanisms in Section IV to our goals in Section III.

It was observed that goal f was not included in any of the mechanisms. Bill Bartscher suggested that f: “Organized and trained greeting/greeters/info center volunteers” was really a mechanism rather than a goal. We agreed to move it to the mechanisms as letter n matching goals a, e, h, p

We spent the remaining time in early discussion of performance measurements. We decided that % increase in annual budget as a reflection of annual giving might be an easier measure.
