Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Bill Bartscher, Bennett Griffin (Chair), Jerry Jalenak, Harold Jones, Margaret Jones, Jerry Niebaum, Michelle Parmley, Brent Schippers, Patti Winn.

Handout: First Church Marketing & Communications Strategic Plan compiled by Bennett outlining the work we have done so far. We reviewed the outline and prioritized the various points. Bennett will update and hand out the revised version next week. Here are a few of the additions:

Prioritize Targets (in Section 1a)

   --Radio broadcast has poor quality

   --Targeted marketing based on interest/category

   --Multiple timelines for marketing delivery

   --Adopt a family/foster parent/grandparent program for visitors/new members/lost members

Goal Mapping: In Section 1b we have identified 4 master goals. We then reviewed our goals in Section 3 and mapped them to the 4 master goals.

  1. The development of a mindset of communications within First Church
  2. The development of a consistent, welcoming and communicative Church
  3. The foundation of a functional One Church Two Campus ministry
  4. The creation of effective community outreach to the Lawrence area

New Campus Timeline Update: July 23—Move from Hereford House to new building;
Aug 20—Grand Opening; Sep 10—Consecration Sunday.
