Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

Members Present: Bennett Griffin (Chair), Jerry Jalenak, Harold Jones, Margaret Jones, Jerry Niebaum, Michelle Parmley, Stitt Robinson, Brent Schippers, Patti Winn.

Goals & Mechanics: Continued brainstorming on goals for a church with 2 campuses and a good communications structure, and added specific ideas for achieving those goals under the “Mechanics” heading.

Goals

-Visitors should not leave empty handed

-Master Calendar

-Good communication of that calendar

-Cross campus communication coordination (C⁴)

-New form of Fisherman/Doorstep visitor welcome

-Organized and trained greeting/greeters/info center volunteers

-Easy to use communications infrastructure for church groups

-Effective, consistent public relations

-Consistency in communications/messages

-Awareness (in the community) of Tom and Nancy (new youth director)

-Awareness of West campus & downtown campus

-New frontier (which led to the discussion of calling West campus “Prairie Campus”)

-Increased involvement of present membership

-Effective marketing of ministry opportunities

-Brochure

-Telephone tree

-Pictorial directory

-Regular news releases

-Church newsletter

-Church website

-Advertisements: newspaper, cable, movie theater, radio, direct mail

-Branding

-Announcements

-Activity board (with info cards)

-Signage

-Measurement of awareness/progress
